Mental Health Awareness programme at New Ningo on Saturday 18 October 2014

Mental Health Foundation of Ghana in collaboration with Ningo-Prampram District Assembly would like to invite you to our Mental Health Awareness programme at New Ningo on Saturday 18 October 2014 in the grounds of The Good Shepherd Methodist Church at 10am. This activity in the Ningo-Prampram District is to mark the World Mental Health Week in October 2014. The theme for this year’s World Mental Health Week is: Living with Schizophrenia.

Our aim is to work collaboratively with the local mental health services in Ghana, NGOs, the Ningo-Prampram District Assembly, local Chiefs and Elders, religious organisations and the local community. We aim to work closely with these bodies to identify shortfalls in the care and welfare of people with mental health problems in the district and to provide appropriate support and advice where necessary.

Our primary objective is to promote community-based programmes with particular emphases on social inclusion and poverty reduction amongst people with mental health problems.

We hope you will find the World Mental Day activities at New Ningo useful in raising awareness of the plight of people with mental health problems in the Ningo-Prampram District. We look forward to your attendance and participation in this useful exercise.
